Aluminium foil MBBs provide near-complete moisture barrier: WVTR under 0.01 g/m2/day vs 8 to 15 g/m2/day for standard LDPE bags — a 1,000x improvement. Required for IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 dry packing of MSL 3 to MSL 6 components.

Construction
3-layer: PET (12 micron) + Aluminium foil (9 micron) + PE (50 to 100 micron). Heat seal at 150 to 180°C. ESD anti-static inner PE layer available.
