Gusseted bags have folded panels (gussets) on sides or bottom that unfold when filled, expanding the cross-section to accommodate bulky contents that exceed flat bag dimensions.
Side vs Bottom Gusset
Side-gusseted: Expands in width — for clothing rolls, coiled cables, bulky accessories. Depth = gusset width x 2.
Bottom-gusseted: Forms flat base when filled, stands upright — for taller-than-wide items.
Applications
Garment and textile packaging: Side-gusseted for folded clothing and fabric rolls.
Foam sheet packaging: Foam rolls and sheets for retail/wholesale dispatch.
Industrial parts: Small machinery parts too bulky for flat bags.
