IPC/JEDEC MBBs have WVTR under 0.002 g/m2/day — required for MSL 2 to MSL 6 semiconductor dry packing per J-STD-033C. Standard aluminium foil bags (WVTR 0.01 to 0.1) do not meet this specification.
J-STD-033 Requirements
MSL 2 to 3: Dry pack in MBB + desiccant required when storage exceeds floor life.
MSL 4 to 6: MBB + desiccant + humidity indicator card (HIC) mandatory.
Construction
4-layer: PET (12μm) + Aluminium foil (9μm) + Nylon (15μm) + ESD-PE (75μm). Nylon layer gives puncture resistance. ESD inner layer provides anti-static protection. Supplied with material spec sheet confirming WVTR and IPC/JEDEC compliance.
