Water Activated Gummed Tape

Water activated gummed tape (WAT) activates with water to chemically bond into corrugated paper fibres — unlike BOPP tape which sits on the surface. Removing WAT tears the corrugated liner, creating permanent visible tamper evidence.

BOPP tape adheres to the surface only — it can be peeled and reapplied without evidence.

WAT bonds into fibres — removal permanently tears the corrugated, making tampering immediately visible.

Reinforced vs Non-Reinforced

Non-reinforced: 40 to 60 kg per 50mm. Standard sealing up to 15 kg boxes.

Reinforced (fibreglass filaments): 80 to 150 kg per 50mm. For heavy export boxes and high-security sealing.

Recyclability

100% recyclable with corrugated cardboard — kraft paper and starch adhesive are both accepted in corrugated recycling. BOPP plastic tape must be removed before corrugated recycling.

Requires water-activated tape dispenser (manual Rs.800–Rs.2,500 or electric Rs.8,000–Rs.25,000).
