Slip sheets replace wooden pallets under loads. Instead of forklift forks, a push-pull attachment slides the load onto the conveyor surface using a protruding tab.
Slip Sheet vs Wooden Pallet
Weight: Wooden pallet 20 to 30 kg. Corrugated slip sheet 800g to 1.5 kg. Saves 20 to 30 kg per load in export containers.
ISPM-15: Wooden pallets for export require certification and treatment. Slip sheets need no treatment — accepted at all ports without phytosanitary documentation.
Cost: Rs. 35 to Rs. 120 per slip sheet vs Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,500 for ISPM-15 pallet.
When to Use
Export containers where weight must be minimised. Cold storage where wooden pallets absorb moisture. Automated conveyors where pallet thickness is too large for the system.
Requires push-pull forklift attachment (Rs. 1.5 to 4 lakhs).
