Air pillow film rolls are uninflated LDPE film fed through an air pillow inflation machine to produce sealed air cushions for void fill. For above 100 shipments per day, air pillows reduce void fill cost to Rs. 0.60 to Rs. 1.20 per pillow vs Rs. 2.50 to Rs. 5.00 for equivalent bubble wrap.
When to Use Air Pillows
Under 50 shipments/day: Kraft paper or bubble wrap — no machine investment needed.
Above 100 shipments/day: Air pillows become significantly more economical. Most large fulfillment centres use air pillows for efficiency.
Machine Requirement
Entry-level inflators: Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 35,000. Commercial models: Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 1,50,000.
